-
General Care:
- Contains Non-Textile Parts of Animal Origin: Handle with care, and be mindful of its origins.
- Keep Away from Fire: Avoid open flames and heat sources.
- Spot Clean: For stains, use a damp cloth with mild detergent. Dab gently and air dry.
- Avoid Sharp Objects: Prevent tears by avoiding sharp or abrasive surfaces.
- Follow Care Label Instructions: Always follow the specific care instructions provided by the manufacturer.
-
Washing Instructions:
- Preparation: Rinse your washing machine before use to remove any leftover detergent and softeners. Close all pockets and zips, and turn the jacket inside out.
- Washing: Wash your down jacket on a cool setting with a long, gentle cycle. Use a down-specific detergent or a mild, non-biological soap.
- Rinsing: Rinse thoroughly to ensure all detergent is removed from the jacket.
- Spinning: Spin gently to remove excess water. To avoid damage, cradle the jacket in a towel if it is heavy with water, or very gently squeeze out any excess.
-
Drying Instructions:
- Tumble Drying: Immediately tumble dry your jacket on a mid-to-low heat setting. Every 20-30 minutes, remove it from the dryer, shake it gently, and pat the baffles to redistribute the down.
- Use Tennis Balls: Adding clean tennis balls or dryer balls can help speed up the drying process and increase loft.
- Ensure Full Drying: Drying can take 3-5 hours. Do not remove the jacket until it feels puffy and fully dry, as damp down can lead to mold.
- Final Airing: Once dry, air your jacket for a couple of days before use.
-
Storage:
- Store your jacket in a cool, dry place. Make sure it is completely dry before storing to prevent mildew.
-
Repairs:
- For minor tears or rips, use a patch or repair kit designed for down jackets to prevent down from escaping.
