Out of the box - the jacket looks and feels like a serious piece of winter clothing, not a stitch nor thread out of place. The outer skin is strong and tough yet still allows easy movement. The inner down is dense and lush. When worn the jacket gives a light gentle comforting hug. Its not cold enough yet for a real road test but I feel confident that I've made an excellent purchase at a very good price.
